It’s not that people should let go of 9/11, it was a grave tragedy. I would argue that the people who passed away might think that the 10 years after was even more-so a tragedy. No sort of mass killing can be justified if we as human beings are to be considered rational. Does anyone truly want tens of thousands of people to die in the name of a few less thousand, especially when a large part of those numbers are our own military troops?

-I’ve been asked a million times why I don’t drink. The last one was “dude, why don’t you just get freakin hammered, it’s awesome.” Of the many answers I could give, my favorite was the one I used tonight: “I can’t devalue reality in that manner and still feel like I’m still living morally, logically, intellectually, or rationally, because for me, that type of consumption works to eliminate all of those things from a person’s existence.” I wasn’t a once-in-a-while drinker when I did drink, and well if I started, I’d probably make up for lost time. Yes, I truly believe that white-trash level drinking keeps a person at sub-par deductive functioning even when they’re sober. I hope one of you Affliction-wearing clown-shows reads this and gets pissed off; the rest of us think you and your whole crew are a bunch of fucking idiots. Success is not purely a $1200/month truck payment and a three week rotation. I avert my disgust with you by pretending that you’re challenging yourself to be the most intellectually bankrupted fuckup out of your group of friends.
-To atheists; the debate has evolved past scriptural inconsistencies and improbabilities. Can you please tell your excited newcomers to get fresh? I remember feeling challenged some time ago by points you brought up, now it’s circa mid-80′s Longhorns vs SMU. Maybe direct their reading to transcendence or something.

-People talk, and talk, and talk, and talk. They want you do believe in the image they have decided they want to have. They work hard to guard that image – so much so that the moment there’s a chance it is called into question, they run like hell or face their demise. Odd that those who least promote themselves achieve better results.

-I can’t look at the speed limits in small towns along major highways as anything other than a municipal revenue generator. Sure, stating the obvious, but either the administration in the municipality is a bunch of self-important po-dunk townies, or kicking the limit down to 50 on a highway that is normally 110 is seriously a “please speed through here, we really need your money to pay for our ‘peace officers’” move.
10:50pm-About those townie peace officers: What authority do they have? If you don’t pull over for them and maintain the speed limit out of their municipal district, then what? They hope the RCMP will be on hand to back them up?
-Burger Baron in Sundre is pretty stupid. I walked in to order some food, said hi to the girl behind the counter and she looked at me confused. I seriously thought she didn’t know English, but nope, she was just an idiot. Oh well, A&W didn’t have a poor dog tied up to the back of the building, so I went there.
10:55-Why are small towns so ridiculous to live in? I’ve lived in a couple and I could never figure out why they wouldn’t aspire to be current. I don’t find a lot of intellectual value in people who can’t move out of the 70′s. Maybe they are just angry that they can not fight the urge to grope their cousins. There is also a major drug and alcohol problem going on with the superstar skateboarders. No problem, they’ll end up rolling that huge diesel truck that I’m just jealous of in no time. This oil boom just made a bunch of white trash with money. We all knew that already though.

-People work hard to defend beliefs. Not even talking about religion here. What may appear as disordered logic to some, is as sincerely infallible as other’s logic is to them, or your logic is to you. I appreciate people who stay cautiously open to making revisions to his or her own logic and rationality.

-I ran into my ex on a dating site. It said we were a 48% match.
-I was asked what I would change about people given the opportunity: “Our herd like behaviour with a lot of dumb trends”. That last Canadian Federal election brought out so many idiots from either side. It’s funny how many 18 year-olds became political experts. “The majority didn’t vote for the person who won”. I wonder if they realize that the actual popular vote (majority of the actual population) hasn’t favored anyone since 1984 and before that in 1958? No really, get informed. You’re only acting like a child because your position is weak.

-Celebrating 15 years of designated driving.
-Tolerance shouldn’t be preached by anyone who is intolerant of anything. What an absurd concept. Culturally, politically, or ethically, if something is found to be intolerable by either end of the spectrum, then what truth is there in the act of “tolerance”? It’s clearly more complex than not liking the smell of farts and forcing yourself to put up with them, but only by a few well-crafted far right-wing research papers. The term itself is arrogant and puts the person practicing it on a high ground. The buzz word needs to die. Racism and homophobia seems to be dying a slow but certain death – let them.

Caveat emptor: watch who polices the internet and how. Is it democratic to create legislation that will affect the general public without first consulting the general public? Intellectual property …. freedom of the mind is at threat when there is no where to freely share it.
