Makeshift Innocence - They're Local!

A few of us loaded up and went down to Mount Royal College for a Haiti relief show last night. We went there to go check out a band I heard was making a shitload of noise out in BC as well as another local band that I'd never seen or heard of up until now. Makeshift Innocence opened the show and rocked the nuts and bolts off of everyone in attendance. For a small show with minimal capacity, this place was shaking.

I wanted to pass this along and get the word out about Makeshift Innocence, as they have a sizable following out here, and after seeing their show, I can see why. They blew the doors off of Wyckham house last night. Any band that has this many hot chicks at their show will always get props from the Calgaryunderground.com crew.

I talked with Makeshift Innocence's front man Jesse James Cameron last night, who mentioned that their online media is pretty mild acoustical stuff that gets amped up pretty huge when they play live. He also said he was really excited to be able to get the opportunity to help out with the Haiti relief effort, and was thrilled at the turnout of fans.

The musicianship and instrumental work of the band is phenomenal, complementing captivating vocal work, which in and of itself is refreshingly original. You'll see that these guys put a ton of hard work into their music whether it's live or on disc.

These guys have toured across Canada and just finished wrapping up with Goodbye Beatdown last night. Don't be fooled by the tameness of their youtube channel. These guys drop it on you hard. Tell your friends, and tell their friends.

Check these guys out and show some support for good local bands
