Default Who's got the worst sleeping schedule ever?

Me.

I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I get home from class at 11, sleep, get up for class at 5, spend the night doing homework, hang it out until 11am and repeat, unless I have actual work. How do you break the awful cycle?

Try having a newborn baby brother, our kid sleeps thru the nite now but the first 3 months you are up every 2 to 3 hours, Zombie land!

1) set boundaries for yourself. MAKE yourself go to bed at a reasonable hour - even if you can't sleep for the first little while, your body will eventually realize what you want it to do
2) melatonin.

dude, with your travelling, you should know how to curb jetlag... same dealio.

going to bed early does not work....
you just lay there, and end up staying up longer than if you had just done something and went to sleep when you got tired....

biggest thing, make yourself get up. you will be tired when you are tired, thats not really going to change, but when you get up, that is what you can change. the rest will follow.

I've beel sleeping retarded hours lately.. I went a month with almost no sleep and now I think my body is trying to catch up. I normally only sleep about 7 hours. Also trying to quit coffee :'(

Either gotta find a way to exhaust yourself out earlier, so you can actually get some sleep when the sun is down; or find a day when you have less to do, and suffer through an all-nighter. So by the time it's decent enough to go to bed, you'll be exhausted as shit.

The only thing you really need to prepare for is the next morning, and your instinctual longing to sleep in until about 4PM. -- At least, this is what I overlooked, ROFL.

Back when I used to work for Schlumberger, doing well logging that was the worst. When you get the call, you just go and go now. Sometimes up for 24-35+ hours.. Fuck that sucked...

Yeah, some of you guys hit it pretty hard. Like Toms idea.. just blitz your own ass with alarm clocks. This has been a problem for me any time I don't have a fixed schedule. Immediately revert to a euro time zone. It's painful ugh..

Melatonin is amazing if you're trying to change your sleep schedule.

Want to fall asleep at 9pm? At 8pm, take a melatonin, jerk off, have a hot shower, go to bed.

Using this method, I've always been able to fall asleep whenever I want. The only time in my entire life that I've had truely bad sleep, I was sleeping on a glacier. Being in a small area with 8 other dudes for a week doesn't help.



Also, buy some harcore canvas blinds - or a gay eye blinder. When it's time to sleep, the rooms needs to be pitch black. If you can make out shapes, it's not dark enough.
